Patient Education Forum: Managing Your Mental Health While Managing Chronic Disease

Explore ways to support your emotional well-being by learning about professional mental health support, as well as self-care modalities and how to incorporate them into your routine.

This virtual event is in collaboration with the National Scleroderma Foundation and features Mary Rose Murray Carey, LCSW (HSS Social Work Manager) and Baptiste Nicolas, LCSW (HSS Senior Social Worker, Rheumatology).

Vasculitis Foundation: New York Vasculitis Conference

A full day of expert medical presentations and peer support for anyone who has been living with vasculitis or is newly diagnosed, as well as their loved ones.

The full day with all sessions, lunch and refreshments is included for a small fee. Speakers include: Robert Spiera, MD (HSS Rheumatolgist, Director of SVM), Lindsay S. Lally, MD (HSS Rheumatologist) Peter Merkel, MD, MPH (UPENN, Chief of Rheumatology), Robert S. Lebovics, MD (Mount Sinai ENT/Otolaryngologist).

Please join experts from three prestigious institutions for an informative session on the most up to date research on scleroderma treatment.

This in-person event is in collaboration with the National Scleroderma Foundation and features Kimberly Lakin, MD (HSS Rheumatologist), Monique E. Hinchcliff, MD (Rheumatologist and Director of Scleroderma Program at Yale Medicine), and Elana Bernstein, MD (Rheumatologist and Director of Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital Scleroderma Program). Location: Hospital for Special Surgery, Menschel Center, 2nd Floor

Scleroderma Buddy Program: This program connects those who struggle with scleroderma, vasculitis or myositis with those who can provide support, which can be particularly helpful for those recently diagnosed. Presently we are only inviting patients seen by HSS physicians to participate in the buddy program. If you wish to participate, please fill out a volunteer consent (to provide support), or if you're looking for support, fill out a support consent form.
